Refocus on Recovery 2025 international conference

The 7th Refocus on Recovery Conference was on 4 and 5 September 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham, UK. Our conference programme and report are now available. Refocus on Recovery 2027 will be on 9th and 10th September 2027 in Nottingham. Save the date!

Building on the success of Refocus on Recovery 2023, and in partnership with the Global Mental Health Peer Network, Imroc, The McPin Foundation, and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Refocus on Recovery 2025 aimed to provide inspiration and network space for people interested in recovery research, with an intention to appeal to new audiences.

Refocus on Recovery 2025 featured presentations from invited keynote speakers and through selected abstracts, providing a platform for both lived experience perspectives, and empirical research studies.

The conference themes are:

  • Theme 1 – The role of lived experience in embedding and supporting recovery
  • Theme 2 – New perspectives around mental health and recovery
  • Theme 3 – Extending recovery beyond mental health

New for 2025: All accepted abstracts were offered a presentation slot, either as a 20-minute extended presentation, or as a 1-minute lightning talk.

The venue: The Crowne Plaza Hotel is in Nottingham City Centre. It was our venue for Refocus on Recovery 2023, and has had a full upgrade to its air conditioning system since then.

Cost to attend in person for both days including a light buffet after the conference on Thursday 4 September:

  • Full price in-person ticket: £300.00
  • Concessionary in-person ticket: £150.00
    (for local, voluntary and community interest groups, small charities, and self-help groups. Service users & carers who do not have access to funding through an institution/project funding can also purchase concessionary tickets)
