Refocus on Recovery 2019
What’s new in Refocus on Recovery 2019?
We have made several changes from Refocus on Recovery 2017, in order to refresh the conference:
- For the first time we are partnering with the World Health Organization, who bring a global human rights perspective. The 2019 conference will have a new focus on mental health and human rights, reflecting the increasing importance of the WHO QualityRights Toolkit.
- We are offering 20 bursaries covering registration fees for participants from low and middle income countries, in order to widen the Refocus on Recovery community beyond high income countries. Please contact us at refocusonrecovery2019@nottingham.ac.uk in order to make an application for one of these places.
- We are partnering for the first time with Mental Elf, who bring social media expertise. We will be blogging before the event, podcasting interviews with keynote speaker, and live tweeting throughout the conference.
- We will be live-streaming the debate, and using the sli.do App so non-attenders can contribute to the debate.
We have also responded to feedback from Refocus on Recovery 2017 in a number of ways:
Feedback: There was insufficient time for asking questions
Change made: we have reduced the time for parallel session talks from 15 to 10 minutes, allowing more time for questions
Feedback: There wasn’t enough opportunity to talk together
Change made: we are running open dialogical spaces in parallel sessions in the conference
Feedback: The gala dinner wasn’t good value
Change made: we have found an alternative venue and reduced the price to £55 – see here for information.
