Nottingham People's Choir - 18th September

The Choir was set up in April 2013 and has gone from strength to strength. It is funded by the Institute of Mental Health. Whilst we enjoy performing, that’s not the most important thing about the choir. Getting to know each other, working together, learning new songs are all just as important. The aim of the choir is to promote health and well-being through the joy of singing. The choir is fun, helping people to build confidence and find friendship. We particularly welcome older and disabled people and we especially welcome people from diverse backgrounds.

Evening reception – 18th September

Join us for a drinks and canapés reception on the evening of 18th September. Tickets are included in the conference registration fee, and you will have the opportunity for relaxed networking with colleagues.

Boomwhacker Energiser event - 19th September

Take part in the Boomwhacker Energiser during the conference, a fantastic fun activity included in the conference registration fee.  Boomwhackers are coloured percussion tubes that create different harmonic tones when played.  Unbeatable Energy will bring participants together to make musical patterns that create a unique and powerful musical beat.

Gala Dinner – 19th September

We are delighted to announce that the Conference Gala Dinner will be held at Nottingham Conference Centre. The evening will commence with a glass of sparkling wine followed by a three course meal and depending on numbers will take place in the Old Library, Old Chemistry Theatre, or the Old Museum at the Nottingham Conference Centre. Each room is steeped in natural daylight and boast Victorian architecture and ornate ceilings. The beautifully restored Old Chemistry Theatre even saw the discovery of silicone polymers by Frederick Kipping in the late 19th century.

Tickets are £60 per person and are not included in your conference delegate fee.

Story Shop – 19th September

The Story Shop offers a chance to have a conversation with people with a range of stories across mental and physical health, on topics like Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia, Depression, Substance Misuse, Psychosis and long term physical health issues such as diabetes and stroke.  Ask someone to share their personal experience of mental or physical health. Find out more in an informal and relaxed way.
